Terms of Service

ShareMD takes markdown and publishes it as a readable document page at a shareable link. You can use it without an account; creating one lets you keep documents, edit them later, and share privately.

You keep all rights to everything you publish. We claim no ownership of your documents.

You grant us only the permission needed to actually run the service: to store your content, and to display it to people who open a link you created. That permission ends when you delete the content. We will not use your documents to train models, sell them, or show them to anyone you have not shared them with.

You are responsible for what you publish, and confirm you have the right to publish it.

This is worth being precise about, because it affects what you should publish:

• A public-unlisted link has a random, unguessable address. It is not listed or indexed by us, but anyone holding the URL can open it without signing in.
• A private link additionally carries a secret token, and can be given a password. Both are required to open the document.
• Neither is a substitute for real access control. Treat a link as readable by anyone it is forwarded to.
• Deleting a document breaks its link immediately. Copies other people already made are beyond our reach.

Do not use ShareMD to publish or distribute:

• Anything unlawful, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Malware, phishing pages, or content designed to deceive people into giving up credentials or money.
• Sexual content involving minors, or content that harasses or threatens a specific person.
• Spam, or bulk automated publishing.

Do not attempt to break, overload, or circumvent the service, its rate limits, or other users' private links. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms, and will act quickly on anything illegal.

To report a document, email support@getsharemd.com with the link.

• Pro is $5 per month, or $40 per year. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep Pro until then.
• We do not automatically refund partial periods, but if something went wrong, email us and we will sort it out.
• If a price changes, existing subscribers stay on the price they signed up at unless they cancel and resubscribe.
• If payment fails, Pro features pause until payment succeeds. Your documents are not deleted.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

ShareMD is run by one person on a small server. It is built carefully and backed up nightly, but there is no uptime guarantee, and there will occasionally be brief downtime for deploys and maintenance.

Keep your own copies of anything important. Your markdown is plain text and portable by design, precisely so you are never locked in or dependent on us existing.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your documents and cancels any subscription. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will normally tell you why unless doing so is unlawful.

ShareMD is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

These terms may change. Material changes will update the date above, and account holders will be emailed. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
